A new reality TV show based in Croydon will soon make its way to our screens.
Unlike TOWIE and the countless other reality show clones, producer Aimee Butcher, 22, claims that Surrey Heights will be more authentic with episodes revolving around the simple, everyday rituals of the participants. Butcher said,
We have lots of ideas for the show. People don’t see Croydon as a particularly glamorous place but there is a lot of stuff going on.
We are looking for people with stories. It’s all the same genre of people in reality shows at the moment, but we are going to be very diverse with our characters.
While we can’t help but roll our eyes at yet another reality TV show, we are a little intrigued. It would be nice to see the different sides of Croydon and how they correlate with each other, and we’d like to see if the show’s characters are a real representation of the south London suburb’s demographic.
It would also be fascinating to see how the area is shaping up after the madness that the summer riots brought last year.
We believe that castings will be held in the first week of May, and will let you know as soon as we have more information on the cast list.

Calm down people, it’s a piss poor copycat reality show that is destined to flop. It won’t make you a big star and Serena, didn’t your parents teach you not to post your personal details on-line. Also, judging by your picture I take it you model motorcycle helmets! And Roxanne, your parents must be soo proud, raised a girl that takes d**k for a few quid. Nice!

Since when does Croydon represent Surrey? Techically it’s not even part of Surrey it is Greater London. What a great example to be set of Surrey. Of all the uptown places to choose from, they choose Croydon. Obviously the person that came up with this idea has never been to Surrey. If they had they probably would have filmed it in the heart of Surrey like Cobham, Esher or Guildford!

I am a young, out going and soiciable person, all the characteristics i think croydon reflects! You could say im quite well known around croydon, this is because i talk to alot of different social groups around this area and get to know a range of different personalitys! I live literally 5 minuites away from croydon by bus in a place called purley but i like to go to croydon regulary because thats where the real partys at!
