A 16-year old schoolboy has become this year’s winner of the national Open Mic Uk competition.
Shak from Coulsdon, beat thousands of hopefuls, winning himself a record deal with investment towards a single release and a comprehensive consultation package with Future Music.
The Politics, Philosophy and Music student revealed that he was still surprised with his win on Saturday, saying
I’m still shocked. I hoped I’d win but didn’t expect it. I woke up on Sunday and thought “what happened last night”, I still couldn’t believe it’!
Previous winners have gone on to support the likes of Ed Sheeran, Wretch 32 and Tinchy Stryder so we hope Shak doesn’t forget about us little people when he makes it big time.
